04 — Design summary
Module composition, left to right
Origin x 0 is the left corner, z 0 the finished floor. All figures in millimetres.
- Tall block 0–1536
- A two-column niche cabinet (0–1000) plus one 536 column (1000–1536), sharing one internal divider. Built as a single 1536-wide carcass — coffee station in the open niche, wardrobe behind the doors.
- Desk 1536–2996
- A 1460-long top with its upper face at 750, carried on the tall block’s right frame and one gable at 2978–2996. Two shallow drawers, open underneath — no plinth in this bay.
- Tower 2996–3996
- An open grid, three verticals and two bays of 473, standing on the bench top at 400 and running to 2420. Shelf levels 750 / 1100 / 1450 / 1818 / 2181; the lower three continue right as 236.5 stub shelves.
- TV field 3996–6510
- The bench runs 2996 to 6207 — six fronts on a ~500 grid, then a rounded nose (radius 150 in plan). Two wall-hung bands, both 300 deep: over the desk 1800–2181, over the TV 1800–2420 in two rows. The last ~300 of wall stays open for the existing socket.
- Top line
- The top is 2420 throughout — tall block, tower and TV band all land on the same line. Nothing above it.

05 — Constraints
What drives the price
- Stretch ceiling at 2446–2454 — nothing may touch it; the tall block is assembled in place.
- Plinths stand on the original tile, laminate cut back; never fix through the floating floor.
- Cellular-concrete walls — dedicated anchors only.
- Two-tone finish must be applied in the workshop, before delivery.
- Electrical by the client’s electrician — you only coordinate sequencing.
- The wall tapers from 6510 to 6513; end scribes absorb it.
Full site notes
A spanplafond at 2446–2454. Nothing may ever touch it — including during tip-up. The 2340-tall carcasses are tipped upright on the floor beside the plinth (≈60 mm ceiling margin), then lifted onto the 80 plinth — 26 mm of clearance during the lift. Never tip up on the plinth itself. Assemble-in-place is assumed for the tall block; price the labour accordingly.
Floating Quick-Step laminate over the original tile. Plinths stand on the tile, with the laminate cut back under the footprints. The desk gable gets a glide foot resting on the laminate and is never screwed down.
They drill soft and throw white dust. Dedicated anchors only — and worth a pull test on the first fixing for the wall-hung bands, the only genuinely loaded wall fixings on the job.
74 high and 12 proud, on both walls. The clearances are already built into the model; the plinth keeps 25 mm off it.
Measured 6510 at the bottom, 6511 at mid height, 6513 at the top. Scribe strips at both ends absorb the taper — allow for scribing on site rather than assuming a square opening.
The client’s electrician does the work, but the sequencing has to be coordinated with you: relocate the inset-wall switch; new socket and LED feed in the niche; TV conduit chased at ~5250 and exiting inside the bench. The existing low socket at the right stays exposed beside the bench.

Thickness values other than 8 / 12 / 18 / 19 are built-up or bought-in items, not single panels: the drawer boxes (placeholders, dependent on the runner family you propose), the terracotta build-up, the laminated nose post and the plinth corner block.

Hardware notes
Six doors are in the tall block; the other two are bench bays. The six bench fronts are dimensionally identical — the four LEFT fronts (b1–b4) run on drawer runners and the two RIGHT fronts (b5–b6, the AV bays under the TV) are hinged doors.
Mechanical TIP-ON doors have no soft-close damper. On doors, push-to-open and soft-close are mutually exclusive unless you go electric. If the client wants both it has to be SERVO-DRIVE: transformer, cabling and a service loop designed in from the start. Please quote SERVO-DRIVE as a priced option alongside the mechanical solution, and say what it means for the backs and the electrical route.
Four drawers in the bench, two under the desk. Tandem with a timber box, or Legrabox / Merivobox steel-sided — your call. Indicative nominal lengths NL400 (bench, 436 internal depth) and NL300 (desk). The drawer boxes in the cutting list are placeholders.
08 — Detailing
Construction rules — read before detailing
These are what make the unit read as one piece. Where a rule is expensive, tell us.
18 mm oak-veneered ply carcasses, 19 mm fronts, 8 mm backs rebated and inset (never overlaid), 12 mm back to the niche lining.
Every visible gap is 3 mm. Fronts carry half-reveals (1.5) toward each other and full reveals (3) toward fixed panels. Shadow lines run collinear across modules — all lower door tops land on 867.0, all bench fronts on 379.0.
Front joints, tower verticals and shelf-band bays share the same vertical lines all the way along the wall. The last bench front ends on the ~6007 line, and the nose runs 6007 to 6207, where bench and shelf band both stop.
The tall block’s two outer sides run forward to the front plane as visible 18 mm frames, 463 deep; the right-hand one is grounded to the floor rather than sitting on the plinth. Doors are inset between them. The internal column joint at 1000 is frameless.
A complete lining box in the light finish, its edges flush with the fronts. Terracotta slab (30 build-up: 18 ply + tile) with its top on 900. Cup shelf at 1460 with an LED channel. A new socket comes through the lining back.
A stacked-lamination post: 50 flat then radius 150, with a full reveal under the bench top. The plinth corner block below is concentric at radius 110, so the 40 recess stays constant right around the curve.
Ladder frames standing on the original tile floor — the floating laminate is cut back under the footprints — on adjustable feet, with 25 mm clearance to all skirting.
Nothing protrudes anywhere. Every door and drawer is push-to-open. This is a hard requirement and it drives the hardware above.
